On Friday 18th October, Dunstan Thomas took part in Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day to raise money for people affected by breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer for women in the UK, with around 55,000 women diagnosed each year – 11,500 of whom will die from it. Additionally, around 350 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK. Read more on the Wear It Pink website here.
Breast Cancer Now fund around 80 research projects across the UK, discovering how to prevent breast cancer and save lives. Additionally, Breast Cancer Now provide care to help deal with the emotional and physical effects of the disease.
To support this amazing charity, Dunstan Thomas held a coffee and cake morning, in which employees donated money in exchange for cakes, with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Now.
Alongside this, Dunstan Thomas ran a sweepstake, the sweepstake winner, Darren Magor generously re-donated his winnings to the Wear It Pink charity. Thank you Darren! All in all, DT staff raised £154.50, a figure that was matched by Dunstan Thomas – totalling £309!. A huge thank you to all DT staff who helped to achieve this figure.
