On Sunday 23rd February, Greg Duncan, Senior Front End Consultant at Dunstan Thomas, ran the Zurich Seville Marathon to raise money for Singing Gorilla Projects, who fund and manage community-based projects in remote parts of Uganda that improve the welfare of communities and enriches the lives of individuals.
The course took the 14,000 participants all around the city, passing some of its most recognizable places, such as Plaza de Espana and Torre del Oro, forming a 26.2-mile circuit. The full course is available at the bottom of this article.
Greg managed to complete the marathon in 4 hours and 31 minutes, an impressive feat given the difficult conditions, with temperatures peaking at 27c.
So far, Greg has raised £1061.34 – an outstanding effort. This contribution will play a crucial role in funding numerous projects managed by Singing Gorilla Projects, including the building and development of health and education facilities, alongside the recently launched Empower Her initiative, which seeks to help young girls whose education has been interrupted by pregnancy. More information on these projects are available here.
A huge thank you and congratulations to Greg for an exceptional achievement – both for the run itself and the vital money raised for Singing Gorilla Projects!
