Dunstan Thomas supports the Crondall Triathlon once more!

01 August 2018

A year ago, we posted an article about our long-standing support of the Crondall triathlon. This support has continued, as once again, Dunstan Thomas have supported the annual event! The Crondall Triathlon was first held in 2004, this is the 15th event! This year, the Triathlon took place on Sunday 3rd June 2018. The event followed the usual plan consisting of a 400 metre swim taking place in the pool at Lord Wandsworth College, followed by a 20 kilometre cycle back to Crondall, concluded by a 5 kilometre run, in which the competitors will run 3 laps around the village. Here is a map of the route.

The fastest team finished the race in 57 minutes and 43 seconds, with the fastest individual competitor finishing in 57 minutes and 42 seconds.

The event raised money for local charities and good causes through the entry fees. Some of the causes that have been helped in the last 15 years are listed below. Competitors are also able to raise money for a charity of their choice including the local vicar, Tara Hellings, who raced in fancy dress to raise money for a lavatory at the church!

Here, local resident and BBC Weatherman Chris Fawkes collects his prize for finishing second in the Men’s category in a personal best time of 1:01:20.
