Chris Read cycles 400 miles over 6 days to raise money for Singing Gorilla Projects

18 September 2018

Chris Read, CEO of the Dunstan Thomas Group, will be cycling over 400 miles over a period of six days, to raise funds for Singing Gorilla Projects, a charity that funds and manages community-based projects in Nkuringo, Uganda. Singing Gorilla Projects builds and manages health facilities, builds schools and sponsors children to continue their schooling. SGP work on the Nteko ridge and the surrounding hills in the Kisoro district of Uganda, a stone throw away from the DR Congo border, close by to Bwindi, the home of the last remaining majestic Mountain Gorilla.

This bike ride is intended to raise money for the Green Hill Health Centre . The Health Centre is set up in partnership with Singing Gorilla Projects, whose mission is to support the community in and around Nkuringo and provide readily available, accessible and affordable medical services and treatment. See pictures of the Nkuringo Green Hill Health Centre right and below.

The ride itself takes Chris through Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Sussex and Kent, travelling across a variety of terrain. Chris will be accompanied by other business owners who are unselfishly giving up their time to help Singing Gorilla Projects and to therefore transform lives in Uganda. The ride will begin on 21st September at 9am and finish at roughly 5pm on 26th September.
